Choosing a career in the hair care industry has been one of the most rewarding joys of my life. When I graduated from the Orlando Academy of Beauty Culture nearly 38 years ago, I had no idea how "in love" I would become with cutting, coloring and styling hair. Moreover, I developed a lifetime passion for the possibility that comes from each and every guest in my chair as a whole. To this day I embrace the privilege of trust and always strive to provide the best style and color that suits my guests' needs, lifestyle, and personal composition.
In my opinion, continuing education is about passion and respect for one's industry. Studying in New York at the Redken Exchange and various other educational venues along the way has kept me current and always hungry to learn more. With that said, I believe some of the best education I have received has come from right behind the chair. Open communication between myself and my guests helped me accumulate a wealth of knowledge available only through experience. Another area of this industry that has challenged me and allowed me to grow as a professional came from owning my own salon and spa for several years. I have truly enjoyed all aspects of this career and feel my extensive experience has well equipped me for continued success.
Hair health is also a passion of mine. Maintaining hair health and luminosity is as important as everything that goes along with the experience of maintaining or transforming style. Offering quality products that I completely believe in helps me educate each guest on how to care for their hair while in between visits to my chair. Also, understanding the influence our local climate has on our hair has also been helpful in finding the best solutions for the most common environmental challenges we all face.
Being a resident of Winter Park for 45 years has been a gift. I look forward to many more years of quality relationships with good friends, family and a career that I call "my happy place." I always welcome new guests and am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to earn their trust. The client-stylist relationship requires the highest level of mutual respect.
